Can Swads replace Synology DS get?
Swads can serve as a DS get replacement on iPhone and Mac. It connects to the Synology Download Station package and lets you view, add, pause, resume, and delete download tasks. Swads is an independent third-party app, not an official Synology application. See the DS get replacement scope.
Does Swads support QuickConnect and remote access?
Swads supports QuickConnect IDs and direct connections using a NAS IP address or domain. Remote access depends on QuickConnect status, DSM network settings, certificates, and the network you are using. See Connect with QuickConnect.
What is Download Station, and do I need to install it?
Download Station is Synology's download management package for DSM, not a download engine built into Swads. Before using Swads, find Download Station in DSM Package Center, install it, and enable it. See system and DSM requirements.
Is Swads an official Synology app, and is my sign-in information safe?
Swads is an independent third-party client and is not affiliated with Synology. Your saved NAS connection settings can sync through your private iCloud account, and Apple Keychain encrypts saved passwords. DSM sign-in sessions remain on the current device. See How Swads protects your data.
Does Swads support DSM 6?
Swads is developed primarily for DSM 7. DSM 6 should work in theory but has not received the same level of testing. See the compatibility matrix for the exact Apple OS, DSM, connection, and sign-in requirements.
Is Swads free?
You can use Swads for free with a daily usage limit. Some advanced features may require a paid upgrade.
Is Swads available for Android?
Swads is built natively for Apple platforms. There are currently no plans for an Android version.
