Install Swads

Install Swads on your iPhone or Mac through TestFlight and prepare your Synology NAS for sign-in.

Swads is currently available through Apple's TestFlight program. On this page you will install it on your iPhone or Mac and get your Synology NAS ready for sign-in.

Before you install

You need:

  • An iPhone or iPad with iOS or iPadOS 18.6 or later, or a Mac with macOS 15.6 or later
  • A Synology NAS with the Download Station package installed and enabled from DSM Package Center

For the complete list, see system and DSM requirements.

Install on an iPhone or Mac

  1. Open the TestFlight invitation on the device where you want to use Swads.
  2. If TestFlight is not installed, install it from the App Store when prompted.
  3. Accept the invitation and install the Swads build.
  4. Open Swads from your Home Screen or Launchpad.

You can install Swads on multiple devices. Each device signs in to your NAS on its own, so a second device does not affect the first.

After installing

  1. Open Swads and choose Add Instance.
  2. Connect with your QuickConnect ID or a host address.
  3. Sign in with a DSM account that has permission to use Download Station.
  4. Open the task queue to confirm your downloads appear.

If something does not connect, see Swads cannot connect to your Synology NAS.
