Connect with QuickConnect
Use your Synology QuickConnect ID to connect a NAS to Swads.
QuickConnect is useful when you do not want to configure a public domain, port forwarding, or a remote address manually. Swads queries QuickConnect data centers and selects a reachable DSM connection address from the returned candidates.
What to enter as the QuickConnect ID
Enter only the ID shown in DSM, not a full QuickConnect URL.
For example, this documentation uses swads-demo as a placeholder QuickConnect ID and swads-user as a placeholder DSM username. Replace both with the values configured on your NAS.
A valid ID:
- Contains only English letters, numbers, and hyphens (
-) - Starts with an English letter
- Does not end with a hyphen
Connect
- Choose QuickConnect ID while adding an instance.
- Enter your QuickConnect ID—for example,
swads-demo—and continue. - Wait while Swads queries data centers and connection addresses.
- Enter the DSM username—for example,
swads-user—and password. - If DSM requires two-factor authentication, enter the OTP code.
After a successful connection, Swads temporarily stores the resolved address on the current device. It can query the ID again when the app starts or you switch instances, so each device can use a connection path suitable for its network.
If the app reports that the ID does not exist, the service is unavailable, or the device is unavailable, see QuickConnect is not working.
