Manage multiple NAS devices

Each Synology NAS is represented by an instance in Swads and keeps its own connection settings and Download Station task list.

Switch the current NAS

When you choose a NAS in the instance list, Swads stops refreshing the old session, connects to the new instance, and reloads Overview, the task queue, and advanced settings. Tasks are not combined between NAS devices.

Edit an instance

You can change a direct address, DSM username, and sign-in options. Swads requires you to sign in again to confirm that the new connection details work.

A QuickConnect ID is the connection identity of its instance and is not edited as an ordinary field after creation. Add another instance to use a different ID.

Remove an instance

Removing an instance deletes its Swads instance data, temporary QuickConnect data, and associated credentials. It does not remove Download Station tasks from the NAS.

Sync between devices

Your saved NAS connection settings can sync through your private iCloud account to other devices using the same Apple Account. Each device queries QuickConnect, establishes its own DSM sign-in session, and keeps its device state separately. See iCloud sync and credentials.
