Thank you for using Swads. Swads is developed by Sven ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in the Swads app (the "App") and on the Swads website (the "Website").

1. Swads App

When You Connect to a Synology NAS

You may enter a connection ID or address, an account name, and a password in the App.

The App uses Synology’s connection services to find a connection to your NAS. It sends the sign-in information and requested actions to your NAS. We do not send your NAS files to Swads servers.

What the App Saves on Your Device

The App saves your preferences, saved NAS connections, and information needed to operate the App. Some sign-in information stays only on your device.

If you allow notifications, the App creates them on your device. It does not send notification content to Swads.

What Apple Syncs

Swads uses Apple’s iCloud services to sync selected information between your devices. This can include saved NAS connections, connection details, and your account name.

If you turn on “Stay Signed In”, the password for that connection may also sync between your devices. If you leave it turned off, the password will not sync between devices.

Apple handles information stored through its services under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. You can manage iCloud access and storage in your Apple Account and device settings.

TestFlight Purchase Testing

The public beta does not currently charge you. If the App displays a purchase, subscription, restore, or redemption flow, it uses Apple's TestFlight sandbox for testing. A sandbox transaction does not create a real charge.

Apple and a purchase-status service provider may process sandbox account, product, transaction, and entitlement information needed to test these flows. We use this information to check whether test features unlock and restore correctly. We do not receive your full payment card details. The purchase-status provider does not need your NAS connections, passwords, or files for this purpose.

Support

If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to include in your message or attachments. We use it to reply to you and provide support. The App does not send support information to us automatically.

What We Do Not Do

We do not upload or store your NAS files or file contents on Swads servers. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the App for advertising or tracking you across other apps.

Your Choices

In the App, you can:

  • turn “Stay Signed In” on or off;
  • delete saved NAS connections;
  • manage iCloud access in your device settings; and
  • decide what information to include when contacting support.

Information saved on your device remains there until you delete it or it is otherwise removed from your device. Information synced through iCloud is subject to Apple’s storage and deletion processes.

2. Swads Website

The Website is a public product-information site. You do not need an account or NAS sign-in information to browse it.

The Website uses third-party analytics services to understand visits and page interactions. These services may process information about your browser or device, the pages you visit, and how you use the Website.

If you voluntarily submit feedback through the Website, we receive the information and contact details you choose to provide so that we can reply and improve the product. A form service provider may help transmit and store your submission.

Simply visiting the Website does not give it access to your saved NAS connections, passwords, files, or iCloud information in the App.

3. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when the updated policy is published on this page.
