Change Download Station settings

Manage advanced Synology Download Station settings from Swads.

Use Advanced Settings to manage the settings that Download Station makes available on the selected NAS. These are NAS-side Download Station settings, not settings for a download engine inside Swads.

Before changing a setting

  1. Confirm that the intended NAS is selected.
  2. Wait for the instance to show Ready.
  3. Confirm that the DSM account has permission to use Download Station.
  4. Open Advanced Settings and choose a category.

Settings you can manage

Available categories can include:

  • General settings and default destination
  • Auto Extract and notifications
  • BT, BT Search, connection, and bandwidth
  • FTP/HTTP, NZB, and RSS
  • File hosting services and their connection configuration

Change and apply a setting

  1. Open the category that contains the setting.
  2. Change only the values you intend to update.
  3. Use the page action to save or apply the change.
  4. Review the category again before changing another group of settings.

Understand missing settings

Categories vary by DSM version, Download Station version, enabled features, and account permissions. Swads marks unavailable categories or leaves them out.

Changes affect Download Station on the NAS. Bandwidth, destination, and protocol settings can change the behavior of all tasks, not only the current device.

If a category is unavailable

Check the Download Station version, enabled features, and DSM account permission on the selected NAS. Swads cannot expose a category that Download Station does not return to the current account.
